At Poly United Rugby, our mission has always been to get our youth—our keiki—active, engaged, and grounded in the values of teamwork and respect. In today’s digital world, we know that every household has at least one Electronic Toy or gaming device competing for a child's attention. While these gadgets offer entertainment, the real growth happens on the field at Buddy Perry Field.
The Shift from Screen to Scrum It is no secret that an Electronic Toy can keep a child occupied for hours, but it cannot teach the camaraderie of a rugby 7s match or the discipline of a Wednesday afternoon practice. We believe in "Active Play" over "Passive Play." While a high-tech Electronic Toy might improve hand-eye coordination in a virtual world, rugby improves physical resilience, social confidence, and a sense of belonging in the real world.
